THE INDUSTRY
For each of us to have an understanding of the concepts herein, we need to have a quick review of the industry.
Just 20 years ago, when we began in the industry, it was a much simpler creature.
Simply put, "build it & they will come" was a truth. If you loved food & serving people, you were going to make it. Yes, it is fact.Â
Wow! Life has changed dramatically!Â
Today, there is a complete nuclear physics degree required to run a restaurant. Certainly feels that way @ times?
Execution must be just about perfect, if you do not outexecute the restaurant down the street, you are simply out of business, no way to pretty it up!
We are going to provide dicsusssions concerning the "good ol days" & why the industry has dramatically changed.
Why did we have innovation insomnia?Â
Why did we continually "fix" something that was never broken? Â
We will discuss solutions from industry leaders (you), conclusions will be simple @ times.
Times change, people change & industries change, how to succeed in today's environment is why you joined.
Corporate Governance - Gotta love it!
Mandatory corporate training sessions will put a glass eye to sleep!
Absolute fact, just attended one to verify!Â
At least there is a symetry to it, in so far as it, prepares us for an environment we actually go into to - the restaurant, but that's about it! Â
Does the coporate training session have anything to do with the job you attempt daily?
Personally, I think it's kinda a waste of time to be trained in something you have no intention of doing?Â
What can you do as a restaurant manager to protect yourself against the lunacy of corporate governance?
Funny? I have been asking myself that question for many years!Â

Fact is, the most sophisticated corporate system ever invented, or hope to be invented, could never hope to compete with personal responsibility, willingness to assume risk, and good old-fashioned hard work!
All of the training, seminars, & books in the world simply cannnot prepare you for being in the heat of the battle!Â
Applying the ideas of successful colleagues can; changing your way of thinking can!
Understand, this site is about personal action; not reading articles, listening to conference calls or chatting with colleagues.
You must put the concepts discussed herein into perpetual motion, making them automatic in your daily routines!Â

The greatest advantage of this site is the anonymity.  Not anyone will know whom you are unless you share that info with them.
It is incidental for whom you work.  Your user name is totally up to you & can be an "alias" if you prefer.Â
For legal reasons, it CANNOT be discussed @ all for whom you work.  Please keep this in mind while on the site. If it is mentioned, due to liability,  we will have to part ways. Sorry, but we have to make this stipulation to keep the site @ all.Â
The information gathered & discussed is for your personal development & can be used regardless of the company.
We will assign you to a "roundtable" to your liking.Â
Roundtables rules:
